My trip to Chicago, IL…. Where do I begin haha

As a photographer there are certain locations, places, and destinations that will spark your interest and fit your style.. Chicago, was one of them. I had always wanted to go to Chicago, I heard so many things about this city good, and bad. I wouldn’t let the bad stop me. To star off here are some cool & interesting facts about Chicago:

1. Chicago was one of the first and largest municipalities to require public art as part of the renovation or construction of municipal buildings, with the passage of the Percentage-for-Arts Ordinance in 1978.

2. The Willis Tower (formerly Sears Tower) is the tallest building in the Western Hemisphere at 110 stories high. Its elevators are among the fastest in the world operating as fast as 1,600 feet per minute.

The Road Goes on Forever

Summer hiking and climbing is one of my greatest passions. From the moment that you begin to make up your pack for that days mission, anticipation starts to build.  Each peak has its own personality. Different pitches, ridges, faces, and prominence result in a challenge unique to each mountain.

Mount Timpanogos: 11,749 feet

Mount Olympus: 9,026 feet

Mount Superior: 11,132 feet

Bald Mountain (Uintas): 11,943 feet

Eastern Sierra: Day 7 – Purple Mountains Majesty

As a kid, and as an adult, I had often wondered what the phrase, Purple Mountains Majesty meant. I had found pictures of purple mountains on the net, and remember thinking to myself, okay…purple mountains… I could never get the majesty part from looking at the pictures. But by the end of today, I would have an epiphany that would lead me to a new understanding.

I woke up and looked at the map again. I was looking for a place to cross over into the French Canyon area, heading north to eventually pick up the Pine Creek Pass trail. I could see Pilot Knob just above some hills in the distance, and on the map, it looked like I could either get over the saddle, or at least around it. Over, would save lots of time and miles.
